Nitish Kumar's govt.to hold special session to clear GST Bill

As,Rajya Sabha cleared the GST bill last week and the monsoon session of Bihar Assembly also ended on August 4.But the Bihar government has called for a special one-day session to pass GST.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, typically not in association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, had, last week, phoned Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, offering to assemble a special sitting to sign off on the offer.

The CM said, “The GST could add about 8,000 crores to Bihar's revenue every year”

As the bill, has cleared for 15 of the 29 states and govt. aims to complete the task within the next 30 days.

On Friday, Assam cleared the bill only four days after both houses of parliament generally passed it.
