THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala State Minister for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan stated on Wednesday that Indians in Ukraine will not be forced to return due to current events.
"One thing that the Modi government guarantees is the protection of our people," Muraleedharan added. "Things will be examined and action will be taken accordingly."
According to him, there are approximately 18,000 pupils and 2,000 Indians in Ukraine. "They've all been requested to register at the Indian Embassy there so that embassy personnel can contact them if necessary," Muraleedharan added.
While many worried parents want their children to return, he claims that the prevalent sense in Ukraine is that the students are not eager to return.
"We promise all that the Government of India will be at the forefront, and that if a situation warranted, quick intervention would be made," V. Muraleedharan, from the Ministry of Communications stated.
