New Delhi: If you have a car, then this news is for you, read it carefully. Now the central government is going to take strict action against those who violate the pollution standards of vehicles. Yes, if a vehicle does not have a valid pollution control certificate from January 2021, then the registration certificate (RC) of such vehicle will be confiscated. According to the information received, the central government has taken this decision to curb the rising pollution.

In this regard, a draft notification was issued by the Ministry of Road Transport on November 27. It has asked for suggestions from other stakeholders before putting the PUC system online and it is being told that the process may take two more months. If the system comes in the proposal, then it will be mandatory for the vehicle owners to get the PUC certificate of the vehicle within the stipulated time. If the owner of a vehicle is found without a valid PUC certificate, he will give seven days time.

If he does not get a valid certificate in this period, then his vehicle RC will be confiscated. At the same time, if a vehicle is found emitting excess smoke, its user can get the vehicle tested for which it will be given seven days. This rule has also been said to apply to all commercial vehicles in the country. Assuming this new system, vehicle owner information will be uploaded to servers linked to the automotive database, which will make it harder for people to continue using their vehicles without a PUC certificate.
