Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to The Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for the last 27 days. And she was constantly treated in the hospital, although she could not survive.

All the adjectives that have been coined for Lata Mangeshkar, such as voice queen, bubble hind and nightingale, have always been short-lived. Lata ji, the eldest daughter of Dinanath Mangeshkar, a famous artist of his time, who ran a theatre company in Maharashtra, was born on 28 September 1929 in Indore. From Madhubala to Madhuri Dixit and Kajol, there is hardly any big actress on the screen of Hindi cinema to whom Lata Mangeshkar has lent her voice.

Lata has sung more than 30,000 songs in more than 20 languages, in 1991, the Guinness Book of World Records had admitted that she was also the most recorded singer in the world. Be it bhajans, ghazals, qawwali classical music or in common movies, Lata sang songs with the same mastery. Lata Mangeshkar's singer's fan base is not in millions but in crores and she has never had a partner in her half-century career.

When the Quit India movement was at its peak, in 1942, except for 13-year-old Lata, her father Dinanath had said goodbye to the world, with the responsibility of managing the entire family's expenses on her shoulders. Lata, who took music lessons from Ustad Aman Ali Khan and Amanat Khan, had to start her journey with a struggle to earn a living, she started her career in 1942 by singing a song in a Marathi movie 'Ki Kii Ilaas' but the song was later dropped from the movie. After 5 years of this India became independent and Lata Mangeshkar started singing in Hindi movies, 'Aapki Seva Mein' was the first movie which she decorated with her singing but her song has not got any special buzz.

Lata's star shone for the first time in 1949 and shines like no one is getting to see her example, this year 4 movies have been released 'Barsaat', 'Dulari', 'Mahal' and 'Andaz'. Soon after the song 'Aayega Aane Wala Aayega' sung by her in 'Mahal', the Hindi movie industry recognized that this new voice was going to go a long way, as it was a time when Hindi film music like Shamshad Begum, Noorjahan and Zohrabai Ambalewali The reign of singers with heavy voices was going on.

Lata Mangeshkar had to struggle a lot in the initial years, many movie producers and music directors have refused to give her a chance to sing, saying that her voice is too fine. Lata Mangeshkar worked with every major musician except OP Nayyar, Madanmohan's Ghazals and C Ramachandra's Bhajans have left an indelible mark on people's minds and hearts. After Noor Jahan's departure to Pakistan in the fifties, Lata Mangeshkar has established a monolithic empire in Hindi film playback singing, there has never been a singer who has presented a tangible challenge to her.

Despite being unmatched and always at the top, Lata has always followed Riyaz's rule for the best singing, every musician who works with her has said that she is always working hard to put 4 moons in the song. The biggest award Lata has received is that among her millions of fans, she has the status of a revered figure. The biggest honour of the movie world has been given the Dadasaheb Phalke Award and the highest honour of the country 'Bharat Ratna' Lata Mangeshkar has got.
