Violating lockdown norms cost dearly to people, 2 arrested

New Delhi: Gautam Buddhist Municipal Police has detained two people for violating the restrictions imposed due to Coronavirus epidemic, and fined 1,777 vehicles owners in Noida and Greater Noida. 14 vehicles were seized at Gautam Budh Nagar for a similar violation between Saturday and 24 hours during the period.

Restrictions continue throughout Uttar Pradesh due to the lock-down imposed on weekends. The ban was issued as a step of the state government for screening and testing people for the corona virus and screening of several DNA-borne diseases. Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) was issued in Gautam Buddh Nagar, in which no more than 4 people can gather together. At the same time, urban areas fall into the 'Red Zone'.

The police said in the statement that "two FIRs have been lodged on Saturday. While 2 people have been detained for breaking the rules. A total of 4,894 vehicles are being investigated at 200 barrier points in the district." Challans of 1,777 were issued while another 14 were confiscated.
