According to a new study, if a person consumes red meat, processed meat and poultry meat for 3 days or more in a week, then they are in danger of getting 9 different types of diseases. Consuming more red meat and processed meats increases the risk of bowel cancer. But for the first time in this study, it has been revealed that overeating meat is related to the 25 non-cancerous diseases due to which most people are admitted to hospitals.

Those who ate the same unprocessed red meat and processed meats were at a higher risk of developing ischemic heart disease, pneumonia, diverticular disease, colon polyps and diabetes. While people who ate more poultry meats were at a higher risk of developing gastro-oesophagal reflux disease (GERD), gastritis, duodenitis, diverticular disease, gall bladder disease and diabetes. Those who consumed 70 grams of unprocessed red meat and processed meat per day had a 15 per cent higher risk of heart disease and a 30 per cent higher risk of developing diabetes.
