New Delhi: The regions in the north Indian plains, which are still reeling under heatwave conditions, are likely to get a little respite from the heatwave in the next two days. According to the MET department, the temperature may drop to 5 degrees in the next 3 days. However, the relief will be for a very short period of time and the heatwave will resume from the 3rd of this day. Last week, the heatwave in several states of the country had been undisturbed. In Odisha, the temperature crossed 44 degrees. at that very place. In Rajasthan, the temperature reached 43 degrees Celsius last week.

India Meteorological Department Director-General Mrityunjaya Mohapatra said there was a difference in pressure between the areas from Gujarat to Haryana. At the same time, the heat shifted from Rajasthan which was already reeling under heatwave conditions. Naresh Kumar, the senior meteorological scientist and heat expert, said that the heat shifted from Pakistan and a meteorological station in Pakistan recorded a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius during the same period.

Kumar further said that the Western disturbance could not bring moisture to the plains. That is why the temperature increased. According to the MET department, "the temperature in the plains of north India is expected to drop by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius in the next two days, which is likely to relieve heatwave."
