North Korea has once again tested a ballistic missile from its east coast. South Korea has also released this information. This is North Korea's ninth test of a ballistic missile this year. Last month, North Korea fired more than 20 short-range missiles. They have conducted dozens of missile tests this year. South Korean and Japanese officials said North Korea also fired a ballistic missile off its east coast on Sunday. South Korea's army chief has said that the missile was tested on Sunday morning. Japan's Prime Minister's Office has also confirmed the missile launch.

Japan says a suspected North Korean missile landed in the sea between Japan and the Korean Peninsula. However, it has not been given how far the missile was off the Japanese coast. Japanese media quoted government sources as saying that the missile landed in the sea outside Japan's exclusive economic zone.

North Korea also tested an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) on November 18. The United States and Japan called it a threat to the stability of the region and insisted on halting North Korea's illegal arms development program and ballistic missile tests. At the same time, North Korea says that it is conducting missile tests in response to the provocative action of the US and its allies.
