The Bombay High Court has dismissed a petition filed by Anil Deshmukh and Nawab Malik seeking to vote in the state legislative council elections. On the other hand, when the court did not give permission, the Shiv Sena said, "Not being allowed to vote is like trampling on the rights of these two elected representatives. In fact, an editorial in shiv sena mouthpiece 'Saamana' today said all this. "Earlier this month, two BJP MLAs suffering from serious ailments were brought in an ambulance to vote during the Rajya Sabha elections from Maharashtra. The Sena termed it as the "politics of discrimination" of the BJP. '

You all know that maharashtra minister Malik and former state home minister Deshmukh, who have been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in different cases of money laundering, are currently in jail. The Bombay High Court had on Friday dismissed the pleas of the two leaders seeking their temporary release from jail to vote in the Maharashtra Legislative Council elections. In fact, voting for the election of 10 seats of the Legislative Council is taking place today i.e. on Monday. In such a situation, the ruling allies Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress have fielded two candidates each, while five candidates of BJP are in the fray. Apart from this, in the Rajya Sabha elections held on June 10 in six seats of the state, the second candidate of the Shiv Sena lost to the BJP. Now, an editorial in 'Saamana' today said, "The assembly membership of Deshmukh and Malik is still intact and they could have been brought for an hour to vote with all necessary security arrangements. ''

At the same time, the Marathi publication claimed, "Depriving them of the right to vote is tantamount to trampling on the rights of two elected representatives. He also said it was a "politics of discrimination". The Enforcement Directorate had opposed the pleas of the two leaders in the court, to which the Shiv Sena said that the "central agency is not the Supreme Court". "But Mukta Tilak and Laxman Jagtap (both from the BJP) were brought to vote (in the Rajya Sabha elections) despite being in a critical illness. When it comes to political selfishness, humanity is crushed and they (Tilak and Japtap) are brought on a stretcher to vote. The BJP can fall to any level to achieve its political goal. ''

"Central agencies are being misused, but what if the court also loses consciousness?" the editorial also said, adding that on the other hand, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Ram Rahim, who is serving a jail term, was granted a month's parole. She said she was given a similar concession before the Punjab assembly elections. ''
