Gorakhpur: Different types of cases keep coming up from Uttar Pradesh. In the meantime, another case is coming out from Uttar Pradesh. The age of Sundar (Sakhu tree) is 250 years old at this time and the forest department will preserve it and it will also be monitored day and night. For this, two forest guards have also been deployed. There were two old trees of Sakhu in the Farenda forest of Gorakhpur range. Out of this, one was demolished just a few months ago. The forest department named it Mundar.

The same has now been decided to preserve this 250-year-old tree from the department and Sundar is more than 250 years old. According to the records of the forest department, the actual age of this tree is not known. It is claimed that the department has recorded the age of this tree in the records of the forest department after discussing it with several elders of Farenda area. Two trees were together in the forest, at one time. Given its age and importance from the Forest Department itself, it was named Sundar and Mundar. Sundar's trunk is 5.30 meters wide and 58 meters long. There is no green tree like this in the area.

Along with this, it also gives an idea of its quality. DFO Avinash Kumar said in his statement that it has been decided to preserve Sundar. Additional deployment has been done for this. The beautiful tree will be tagged as 'heritage tree' and pasted on other trees. Apart from Ferenda, it will be discovered in many places including Tarkulaha, Chaurichora, Alinagar, Gorakhnath temple. Efforts are on to find out the age of old trees. Its importance will be written on all such trees. Fences (enclosures) will be made on the sides of the trees so that it can be protected.
