Lucknow: The difficulties of Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam have increased in connection with the recovery of a stolen machine from Jauhar University in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh. Police have filed a charge sheet in the court against five people including father and son. Sadar police station chief Gajendra Tyagi informed today i.e. on Friday (November 18) that the automatic sweeping machine of Rampur municipality was found at Johar University.

In the case registered in this regard, the police have filed a charge sheet in the court against five including former cabinet minister Azam Khan and his son Abdullah Azam. It is alleged that the machine purchased for the municipality was stolen and buried on the university campus. Thana Sadar Police, on the complaint of BJP leader Bakar Ali, who was once close to Azam Khan, in September case was registered under section 409, 120-B IPC and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act against 7 people including Azam Khan, his MLA son Abdullah Azam and his friend Anwar Hussain, Salim, Talib, and former Municipal President Azhar Ahmed Khan.

According to the report, all of them are accused of cleaning the Jauhar University with the automatic sweeping machine purchased for the municipality Sadar during the Akhilesh government of the then Samajwadi Party (SP). In order to destroy the machine after the change of government in the state, the machine was buried by digging a pit in the university campus. According to the police, a charge sheet has been filed in the court against 7 accused including Azam Khan and Abdullah Azam in this case. The role of the accused is being probed during the investigation including former Municipal President Azhar Ahmed Khan.
