Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone‘s first song of the film Pathaan Beshram Rang is facing huge criticism. Besharam is a dance number romancing each other in exotic locales in Europe. However, they are facing huge criticism because of the color of Deepika’s Dress.  On the one hand various people are criticizing and Boycotting the film. Meanwhile on the other hand various people came in support of the song.

Filmmaker Onir slams the politician who are criticizing the song because of  the color. He wrote, "Can’t imagine that the most important thing to debate for a bunch of politicians (whose claim to fame is propagating hate and dividing the country & instigating violence) & the mainstream media is the costume worn by two actors for a song!" He also added the hashtags--unemployment, inflation and climate crisis.

The filmmaker re-shared a video posted by a news channel on Twitter in which MLA Sadhvi Pragya spoke against Pathaan. He wrote, "No point of film certification board/judiciary/law enforcement agencies .. now goons will decide what we watch. Terrible times …"

Earlier MP’s Minister Narrotam Mishra said, “I feel the title of the song 'Besharam Rang' is also objectionable in its sense. The song is made with a contaminated mentality, the actor and the actress are clad in green and saffron clothes in an objectionable manner.” The Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Govind Singh has also expressed his anger on the costumes in the song. "The scenes of the song and costumes are highly objectionable. Such things are not acceptable in Indian culture."

Pathaan, marks Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the big screen in over four years. The action thriller also stars John Abraham and is directed by Siddharth Aanand. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on January 25, 2023. It will be released in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions apart from Hindi. Shah Rukh Khan also has Jawaan and Dunki in the pipeline.
