Vernon Philander has completely smashed the batting order of Australia restricting them on the lowest total against the proteas in test cricket. After a powerful spell of Vernon Philander, Australia team has been bowled out, putting the total score of 85 on the board. Philander have taken 5 wickets in the first day of the second test in Hobart. The only captain Steve Smith has reached to the total of 48.

In reply, South Africa have started well without losing any wicket till the tea break but after the break, Mitchell Starc has taken 3 wickets over the span of 10 balls to put visitors in control. Till the stumps, on the day one SA has scored 171 losing 5 wickets hence making a lead of 86 runs.

After the performance Philander shared,
"It was a magnificent all-round performance from everyone, catches needed to be taken, there was a runout and all those things add up to a collective team effort to bowl a team out," Philander said.

Darren Lehman is the current coach of Australian team and day one show was also frightening for him. "It was a bit of a reminder of Trent Bridge the way the ball was going around. At the end of the day 85 is not good enough for an Australian cricket team," coach Darren Lehmann lamented.
