Rajya Sabha will not meet in Parliament on February 13:Venkaiah Naidu

New Delhi: Today is the last day of the proceedings of the Upper House of Parliament, Rajya Sabha. The Rajya Sabha will not meet on the last day i.e. on 13 February, Saturday. Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu on Thursday informed this in the House. The meeting of the Lok Sabha will be held on Saturday as per the function. In such a situation, the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha of the first phase of the budget session will be completed on Friday. There was a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Thursday morning. It was decided in this meeting that the talks and reply to the budget will be completed by Friday and will not be on Saturday. He informed us that there will be no non-official business on Friday.

Venkaiah Naidu said that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will have a reply on the budget talks on Friday. However, he did not clear the timings. According to the sources, the proceedings of the Lok Sabha will run on Saturday 13 February. It is worth mentioning that the first phase of the budget session of Parliament was to run from 29 January to 15 February as per the earlier announcement. After making changes in it, it was decided that after the meeting of both the houses on February 13, the first phase of the current session would be completed.

After the announcement of M Venkaiah Naidu, the first phase of the budget session is going to be completed on Friday itself. The budget session started with President Ram Nath Kovind's address on January 29 and it will last till April 8. All the MPs who have attended the budget session have joined the proceedings of the House only after conducting an RT-PCR investigation. The second phase of the budget session will start from 8 March and will run till 8 April.
