New Delhi: Taking a big action on the rioters of Jahangirpuri violence, Delhi Police has charged five accused under the stringent National Security Act (NSA). According to reports, the five have been charged under the stringent Anti-Terrorism Act, which empowers the government to detain a person for several months without formal charges. Among these five accused, Sonu Shaikh, who opened fire on the crowd. Mohammed Ansar, who is the mastermind of the violence, and Salim, Dilshad and Ahir are named.

At the same time, after the violence that broke out in Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, Union Home Minister Amit Shah is monitoring the whole situation here. He had called Delhi Police Commissioner Rakesh Asthana and Special CP on Monday to take strict action against those involved in Jahangirpuri violence. Following the instructions of Amit Shah, Delhi Police has so far arrested 27 people including some minors in this violence. It is noteworthy that on April 16 in Jahangirpuri, Delhi, a Muslim mob attacked the procession taken out by Hindus on Hanuman's birth anniversary, after which violence erupted.

According to the police, some miscreants pelted stones here and set several vehicles on fire. Several police personnel, including civilians, were injured in the violence that followed. Let us inform that taking continuous action in this case, on Monday (April 18, 2022) Delhi Police arrested Yunus Sonu, who opened fire and after that news came that a person named Sheikh Hamid had also been caught. Sheikh Hamid had also confessed that he had supplied glass bottles to the rioters for the attack.
