Odisha Transport Minister Padmanabha Behera on Sunday said Puri Air Services could start by 2022-23. In fact, the work of setting up an international airport in Puri has started. Talking to media, Transport Minister Behera said that the process of setting up a new airport at Puri has already started, including the process of identification of land and other stages. If the scheme formulated by us continues to be worked out on time, people will be able to avail air services from Puri by starting the year 2022 or 23.
He said the state government is constantly in talks with the Aviation Ministry and experts in the case. To strengthen the country's fight against corona, the airports of the country are transporting medical and equipment across the country every day. Airports Authority of India (AAI)'s Bhubaneswar Airport and its stakeholders are also playing an active role in providing transportation facility for 24×7 medical equipment and accessories.
