Bhubaneswar: Naveen Patnaik (Naveen Patnaik) of Odisha has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi (PM Narendra Modi) today, i.e. In fact, he has urged Prime Minister Modi to approve additional rice allocations under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY) for at least the next eight months so that the NFSA recipients may be served. "I would want to convey my humble appreciation to the COVID-19 epidemic for giving seven months of rice free of cost under PMGKAY for distribution to NFSA beneficiaries in the State from May 2021 to November 2021," CM Naveen Patnaik said in his letter.
Furthermore, he stated, "'By providing free foodgrains to the public at this critical moment, we insured that no poor or vulnerable person went hungry throughout the outbreak.'
In a subsequent letter, he stated, "Odisha has prioritised the delivery of seven months' worth of PMGKY-III foodgrains to NFSA recipients, with the goal of finishing it by November 5th, 2021. All people insured by the state's own Food Security Scheme now have access to a comparable service. Despite the quick vaccination effort across the state, COVID-19's impact has not yet been fully mitigated, since new illnesses are being reported. Moreover, other economic activities have still not reached pre-epidemic levels, which is why people are still struggling to lead a normal life with sustainable means of livelihood. '
Meanwhile, he writes in the letter, "In the current circumstances, it has been thought highly imperative that the Government provide support to the vulnerable individuals during this critical moment." The difficulty of food security for the poor and vulnerable is a major source of worry in this current pandemic situation. Since the government now has sufficient foodgrains, I respectfully suggest that you (PM Modi) consider extending the additional rice allocation for at least the next 8 months under PMGKY for distribution among NFSA recipients till the epidemic situation improves.'
