Odisha govt clears 11 investment projects worth Rs2,082 cr

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha government accepted 11 investment proposals worth Rs 2,082 crore on Thursday, officials said, which will generate  3,612 employment opportunities in the state.

The projects were cleared by the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA), which is led by Chief Secretary S.C. Mahapatra. Hemant Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary (Industries), stated that the projects will create jobs in industries such as steel downstream, tourism, IT, and ESDM.

The panel has approved a Rs 732 crore project by the National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) to build a 3.5 million tonne per annum (MTPA) over land conveyer (OLC) corridor at Pottangi, Koraput district.

In the Jharsuguda district, the government has authorised a proposal by Konark Ispat Limited to build a rolling mill, 0.6 MTPA pellet plant, coal gasification unit, and a 10 MW coal-based captive power plant. The corporation requested a Rs 379 crore investment in the project.

The committee has cleared the construction of three downstream steel facilities in Kalinga Nagar, Jajpur, with a total investment of Rs 367 crore.
