Ghaziabad: A rape accused who came from Ghaziabad committed suicide by jumping from the sixth floor of the court in Faridabad on Saturday. The deceased Suraj (21) was living with his wife in the Khoda Colony of Ghaziabad (UP). Suraj used to work in a factory in Faridabad earlier. On June 15, 2021, a case was registered against Suraj at Kheri Bridge police station for driving away from the teenager with the intention of marriage. On June 24, police seized the teenager's body and arrested Suraj. On the complaint of the teenager, a section of pocso act has been added to the case. After about a month and a half, he came out of jail on bail.  

After coming out of jail, he married the victim. By then, the victim was 18 years old. Since the marriage, Suraj had been living with his wife apart from his parents. The rape case was going on in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Jasmine Sharma.  

On Saturday, he had gone to the court on the sixth floor with his parents on appearance. Advocate Shahid Ali had said that the arguments on permanent bail were about to take place. After the hearing, Suraj came out of the court and jumped down from the nearly four-foot-high wall of the gallery. Police personnel picked him up, but he died on the spot.
