Mumbai: After receiving new variants of the corona, there is a stir all over the world as well as in India. Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has convened a meeting at 5.30 pm today. The task force set up by the Maharashtra government on Corona has suggested quarantine for 14 days to people coming from South Africa. The Maharashtra government also wants flights from South Africa to be banned. The meeting will be attended by divisional commissioners and collectors.

According to the news that is coming out, the State Government is going to request the Centre to immediately ban flights coming from African countries. It may be recalled that CM Uddhav Thackeray is unwell but will attend the meeting online from the hospital itself.

On the other hand, there is a hue and cry all over the world after finding a new variant of the corona, even though the new variant Omicron received in Africa has endured the whole world, but the crisis is not as much as fear. Several countries have imposed travel restrictions on other African countries, including South Africa. According to media reports, Omicron is said to be seven times faster than the delta variant, but in Africa, it has been in the last two months, with both the number of new cases and deaths declining.
