After Sony, HTC also starts rolling out the new Android 7.0 Nougat updates. The phone which is on the list of roll out is HTC 10, 10 lifestyles and One M9. But before these phones, HTC already update the HTC One A9. These phones are now receiving the updates in the Europe before it comes to India.
The news was confirmed by HTC's Graham Wheeler, Product and Service Director, HTC EMEA. In a tweet, Wheeler wrote, "HTC 10 Nougat starts rolling out today. The UK first more regions to follow soon."
Firstly, the receiving of the update is limited to first few regions before the updates are globally accepted. Android Police points out that the Android Nougat update for the HTC 10 is about 1.17GB in size while the HTC 10 Lifestyle is receiving OTA (over-the-air) update of 1.15GB. The HTC One M9 is reportedly getting the OTA update of about 1.27GB in size.
Last year, when Google announced the release of the final build of the Android 7.0 Nougat, HTC also announced alongside that HTC 10, HTC One M9 AND HTC One A9 will receive the update. Though, the company has been slightly late as users who did not receive the Nougat update in the initial rollout are only now receiving the update as the company resumes its update rollout.
