Srinagar: A terrorist has been killed in an operation by security forces running in Charar-i-Sharief area of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. An army soldier has also been injured in the encounter, while the other terrorists' companions have been hiding in the area. The army's campaign is on in the area to nab them.

According to a police officer involved in the encounter, a terrorist has piled up in the operation. He has not been identified at the moment. On a tip-off, a joint team of army, police and CRPF were conducting a search operation in Charar-i-Sharief area, as soon as the security forces started the siege of the area, the militants started firing on them. After this, the security forces also gave a befitting reply to the terrorists.

The operation was stopped at night after it started the late evening. During this period, the area was kept surrounded throughout the night and the whole area was monitored through night vision binoculars. The operation was resumed during the dawn. In which a terrorist collapsed. The officer said that a soldier was injured in the encounter. He has been admitted to the 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. His condition is stable at the moment.
