Mumbai: SBSP chief OP Rajbhar, who contested the last assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh in alliance with the BJP and earlier with the Samajwadi Party (SP), has found a new ally. OP Rajbhar has claimed to have an alliance with Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray faction). Rajbhar said the SBSP will also contest the BMC elections in Mumbai in alliance with Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray.
On a question related to future politics, Rajbhar said that he had a meeting with Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray in Mumbai two days ago. The one-and-a-half hour-long meeting was positive. During this, there has also been a discussion about BMC elections. Rajbhar claimed that Thackeray has agreed to contest the BMC polls in alliance with the SBSP. The SBSP will also contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in UP in alliance with the Shiv Sena. On this question, he said that Shiv Sena has nothing in UP.
The SBSP contested the 2017 assembly polls in alliance with the BJP. He was also appointed a cabinet minister when CM Yogi became CM. But after differences on many issues, Rajbhar was removed from the post of minister. After this, he was constantly attacking the BJP and Yogi and in 2022 Rajbhar formed an alliance with the SP. But, the opposition alliance was defeated severely.
