NEW DELHI: The leaders of 14 opposition parties met on Monday to discuss their shared parliamentary approach.
According to sources, the leaders of the Congress, RJD, DMK, NCP, JDU, AAP, and Left parties gathered in the office of Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, in the Parliament complex.

The meeting follows the government's persistent criticism over the Adani row and calls for an investigation by a joint parliamentary committee.

The meeting also comes after the Rajya Sabha suspended Congress member Rajani Patil from Parliament for the remainder of the Budget session, for circulating an unauthorised video of house proceedings.

Patil had argued that since she hadn't done anything intentionally, it wouldn't be fair to punish her severely.
"I belong to a freedom fighter's family and I should be given natural justice. I have not done anything intentionally," Patil had said.

Shares of the corporate giant Adani Group have fallen on the exchanges after US-based short-selling company Hindenburg Research issued a long list of accusations against it, including fraudulent transactions and share-price manipulation.

The Adani Group has denied the accusations, claiming that it abides by all legal and disclosure obligations.
“Like most other opposition parties, the AAP is also trying to make the industrialist Adani issue an electoral agenda but they will not be successful,” Delhi BJP spokesperson Praveen Shankar Kapoor said.

“People of Delhi have faith in the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra  Modi and they will continue to support BJP by giving all seven Lok Sabha seats from Delhi to the BJP in 2024 elections,” he added.
