Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) president and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR )ratcheted up his campaign against the Narendra Modi government over the Adani row by stating that LIC, the public sector insurance company, had a large exposure in the troubled Group, putting the funds that common people and small investors had invested at serious risk.

In response to the Assembly's discussion of the Appropriation Bill 2023 on Sunday, KCR  criticised the Prime Minister for failing to inform the public about the Adani situation and dubbed Modi's parliamentary speech as "the most disgusting" at a time when the public was eager to learn what steps the Centre would take to punish the embattled company.

Interestingly, the CM praised the Congress-led UPA administration, claiming that Dr. Manmohan Singh had performed better as prime minister than Narendra Modi and that it had surpassed the present BJP-led NDA administration in a number of areas.

"Manmohan Singh outperformed Modi in performance. However, he never bragged about his accomplishments and quietly carried out his job. This aided the BJP in spreading false information about Manmohan Singh in order to convince the public that there was no development during the UPA administration. I do not serve in Congress.
Ironically, I have to give these statistics on Singh's achievements as the Congress leaders failed to do so. I'm ready to resign  if anyone proves these statistics wrong," Rao said.

Regarding the Adani row, Rao argued that the LIC had made large investments in the faltering business and that "billions of wealth of investors and shareholders had gone" ever since the scandal surfaced.

"The country wants to know what the Center will do about the Adani problem because millions of regular people have invested in LIC and are concerned about the future. The PM, however, remained mute throughout Parliament and said nothing about it. The PM made no promises or mention of forming a committee to conduct an investigation. Rao said, "He was just beating about the bush.

Under Modi's administration for the past nine years, the CM stated that approximately 20 lakh Indians have abandoned their nationality and travelled to other nations in pursuit of employment.
Rao gave the BJP-led NDA acronym a new meaning by calling it the "No Data Available" government in reference to the Centre's responses that no data was available in response to the MPs' pertinent inquiries.
The CM expressed confidence that the BRS would win the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections and predicted that the Modi government would lose. The BRS administration would introduce new irrigation, power, agricultural, drinking water, industrial, and infrastructural policies in the event that this happened.

Rao claimed that Modi had won the 2014 Lok Sabha elections but the Indian people had lost "When I founded BRS, I wanted people, not parties, to win elections. Millions of Telangana's poor and needy people have benefited from the BRS government's election by receiving Aasara pensions, free electricity for agriculture, uninterrupted power for all sectors, Rythu Bandhu, Rythu Bima, and Dalit Bandhu, as well as fee reimbursement, scholarships, Shaadi Mubarak, Kalyana Lakshmi, and KCR Kits."

Former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was acclaimed as unbeatable after the Bangladesh War, but one ruling by the Allahabad High Court against her changed the course of Indian politics and brought down the government.

"Modi could appear unbeatable right now. However, one should be aware that authority is merely transitory, and that people will respond to situations as they develop and use their votes to deliver an appropriate lesson "he said.

Rao called Modi's ambition for India's economy of $5 trillion a "joke" and "silly," saying that the goal ought to have been higher. "The US economy now stands at 25 trillion dollars, compared to China's 18.3 trillion, Japan's 4.3 trillion, and Germany's 4 trillion. Just 3.5 trillion dollars might be generated by the Indian economy. We should at least set a lofty goal. We ought to dream big "CM said.
