New Delhi: The Lower House of the Parliament has been adjourned till 2 pm on Wednesday, August 3,  amid a ruckus created by the Opposition parties over the "misuse" of central agencies and other issues.

The Energy Conservation (Amendment) Bill, 2022, was introduced in the Lower House just before the session ended.

Manickam Tagore and K Suresh, both members of the Congress, had earlier presented notices of adjournment in the Lok Sabha, calling for a discussion over recent searches conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at the National Herald offices.

Chairman Venkaiah Naidu of the Rajya Sabha disallowed a debate over the "misuse" of federal agencies. Senior Congressman and opposition leader M. Mallikarjun Kharge, Deepender Singh Hooda, Priyanka Chaturvedi, Sanjay Singh, and Raghav Chadha of the AAP all submitted notices in accordance with rule 267 but were not admitted. "You are aware of my stance. All of these notices are worthless for consideration under 267, "Naidu said.

In accordance with Rule 267, the discussion of the matter presented in such a notification may be conducted after the day's business has been completed.

On July 18, the Monsoon Session began, and it will end on August 12.

Pralhad Joshi, the Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, announced on Tuesday that a meeting discussing the upcoming vice-presidential elections will take place on August 5.  After attending the BJP Parliamentary Party meeting, Joshi addressed the media and said, "We will be meeting again on vice-presidential polls on August 5."

BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda was present as the Bharatiya Janata Party Parliamentary Party meeting got underway on Tuesday morning at the Parliament Library Building.

Rajnath Singh, Ashwini Vaishnaw, S. Jaishankar, Anurag Thakur, and Pralhad Joshi, all Union Ministers, were among those who were seen arriving for the meeting at the Parliament Library building. Rajnath Singh is chairing the meeting.
While opposition parties have named Margaret Alva as their nominee, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has declared Jagdeep Dhankhar as their vice presidential candidate.
