Bhubaneswar: Lockdown is applicable across the country due to the global epidemic coronavirus. Apart from airlines, bus and rail operations are also closed. The workers of different states of the country are trapped in different states. Odisha workers also live in large numbers in the states of South India for livelihood. The Odisha government has announced to bring back the trapped labourers in other states.

Meanwhile, the phase of labourers returning from the sea route from the territories of South India is going on. Just two days ago, a batch of 38 workers had arrived at Pati Sonepur beach in Ganjam district of Odisha on a boat from Chennai. In the same sequence, a boat coming to Odisha carrying 39 labourers from Chennai is stuck in the sea. It is being told that the ferry has stopped due to the exhausting of diesel.

A boat with diesel has been sent from Ramayapatnam to bring the trapped workers back safely. It is being told that 24 workers hail from the Ganjam district of Odisha in this boat. 15 others are said to be from Andhra Pradesh. Of the 24, 11 belong to Ramayapatnam, while nine Patis is said to be from Sonepur, three Markandi and one from Digipur.
