Bhubaneswar: 887 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in Odisha on Wednesday. There were 69 more patients who died of infection. A health department official has informed that 131 children are among the new patients. Thus, the number of children infected has increased to 14.76 percent compared to 12.8 percent of the previous day's cases, reflecting the increasing number of infections in the population below the age of 18.

The official said 1,260 children have been diagnosed with corona infection in the state since August 15. At the same time, he said that 30 of them have lost their lives. A total of 10,03,210 cases of corona infection have been registered in the state so far and 7,562 people have lost their lives. The transition rate in the state has gone up to 1.29 percent since the new cases came in. The highest number of 323 cases have been registered in new cases from Khurda district, which is also part of the state capital Bhubaneswar. Cuttack district has the highest number of 25 patients. The official said 8,226 people are still undergoing covid-19 treatment in the state, while 9,87,369 patients have recovered so far.

According to the Union Health Ministry, 2,09,53,280 vaccine doses have been given so far in Odisha. In this 1,59,82,115 people have been given the first dose and 49.71 lakh people have been given both doses.
