Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has issued an order stating that the festival of Holi will not be celebrated in public places across the state on the 28th and 29th. People can celebrate Holi with just family members in their homes. It is not allowed to celebrate the festival in any public place, including public roads.

Keeping local conditions in view, the municipal commissioners and collectors can take any proper decision on entry into religious places and temples. Where in the Dola Mela only a certain number of people are allowed. Both Holi and Dolayatra are festivals where people live very close to each other. When you come into contact with each other while applying color, it is extremely difficult to observe the physical distance. This was likely to increase the risk of virus infection even faster.

The Special Relief Commissioner in this order said that Dola yatra and related religious and cultural meetings will not be allowed in the entire state.  With strict adherence to the covid guidelines, religious events in temples will continue as before. Municipal Commissioners and Collectors can take any proper decision on entry into religious places and temples.
