Bhubaneswar: In view of the increasing cases of the global pandemic coronavirus, people will not be allowed to enter the Durga Puja venue in Odisha, though the rituals will be carried out by law. This was stated in the guidelines issued by the state government on Thursday.

According to the guidelines issued by Chief Secretary Ak Tripathi, the height of the idols will not exceed four feet and the use of loudspeakers in the pandals will also be banned. According to the government order, the guideline will be applicable to Laxmi Puja, Kali Puja and all other festivals celebrated during the next three months. According to this, the venue will remain closed on three sides and the venue will also be covered by the fourth side in such a way that the general public could not enter. Devotees will not be allowed to visit," he said.

No more than seven people including priests and organizers should be present at the Puja Venue at any moment. The organizers will have to seek permission from local authorities and police to set up the venue. According to the guidelines, people present in pooja Pandalal will have to strictly adhere to corona pandemic safety rules.
