Bhubaneswar: The global epidemic corona virus has robbed many people of their livelihood. Many of them were the only earners in their homes, and the epidemic caused a stir in the lives of those families. Last year's lockdown forced a large number of migrant labourers to flee their homes from cities, after which they had no work or other way.

Similar was the case with Ranjan Sahu from Odisha, who lost his job last year due to corona pandemic and returned home. However, he has now started his own cloth makeing business and provide job to those who unemployed along with him that 70 people in his company. In fact, the corona epidemic led to a lockdown in March last year and in April, the garment unit in Kolkata where he was working was closed, he returned home due to job losses. According to media reports, he explained, "I had my savings, which would have made me live. But then I realized that there were many people around me who had lost their livelihood and did not even have enough savings to survive.'

Ranjan says, 'In that case I thought I would start my own business now.  Sahu started the first textile manufacturing unit in his village, 110 kilometres from Bhubaneswar, spread over 3,000 square feet, with 45 cloth stitching machines. Work at the unit has started from January this year, employing 70 migrants who returned home from the city.
