US microblogging site Twitter accounts that were linked to the Saudi Arabian government and were working to propagate propaganda have been suspended. All these accounts are alleged to have violated the policy of Twitter. All these accounts are playing a role in spreading misunderstandings and rumours. Twitter has cancelled about 5,929 accounts. The reason behind this has been given that they were being discussed about Saudi Arabia. A few weeks ago, US authorities have filed a spying case against three Saudi citizens.

For your information, let us tell you that even before that, Twitter had suspended some Twitter accounts of Saudi Arabia. In September, the company suspended six tweeter accounts related to Saudi media. In addition, hundreds of UAE and Egyptian accounts have also been suspended. He was accused of targeting Qatar and Iran and spreading rumors against the Saudi government. Twitter accounts of Russia, Iran, Spain and Venezuela have also been suspended this year.

In its statement, Twitter says that these accounts were spreading misleading news and spam on many topics. In September, Twitter suspended the former Saudi Royal Court advisor Saud al-Qahtani and several accounts related to the Saudi government. The suspensions have just been done by the Twitter site Integrity Team. Most of the content involved is in Arabic language. Twitter had also published data related to these accounts in its blog.
