Guwahati: Some associates of Khalistan supporter Amritpal have been kept in Assam jail. Khalistan supporters angry with this action have now threatened Assam's CM, Himanta Biswa Sarma. A threatening message has been sent to Chief Minister Sarma on behalf of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu.

The members of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu's organisation, Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), have warned him to stay away from the Khalistan and Amritpal issues. It has also been said in the threat that the fight of Khalistan supporters is with the government of India and PM Narendra Modi. Therefore, the Chief Minister of Assam should avoid becoming a victim of violence by not getting involved in this matter. About 12 journalists from Assam have been called to threaten Himanta Biswa Sarma. The caller claimed to be a member of Sikhs for Justice and said that this message was being given to him on behalf of Gurpatwant Singh Pannu. The threat states, 'Khalistan supporters imprisoned in Assam have been tortured. Chief Minister Sarma should listen to this carefully. The struggle of the pro-Khalistan Sikhs is with the Indian government and Modi. It should not happen that Sarma becomes a victim of this violence.

The separatists have also said that if the Assam government is thinking of persecuting the supporters of Amritpal who were taken to Assam from Punjab, then Himanta Biswa Sarma will be held responsible for it. His organisation, Sikhs for Justice, is trying to separate Punjab through a plebiscite. Many organisations have been formed to meet the demand for Khalistan. There is also a Sikh for Justice among them.
