Bengaluru: The heavy rain that occurred last night in Tumkuru district of Karnataka, the southern state of the country, changed the fortune of a farmer. This news is a bit strange to hear but it is true. Farmer Anjanappa of Madhugiri taluka of Tumkuru had dug a big pond for rainwater harvesting a few years ago. This pond has the capacity to collect 10 million litres of water. However, this pond was dug by Anginappa in a very difficult situation with drying out his three borewells.

Anjanappa has studied civil engineering and a few years ago he came in a lot of headlines in the state. The horticulture department had selected his mango garden to promote tourism in the state. Anjanappa has a large mango orchard. But Anjanappa, after drying out his three borewells, dug up the big pond by spending about thirteen lakhs so that water can be arranged. Anjanappa said "The rain of 1 night changed his fate. This happened because the rain on Sunday night not only filled the pond but also borewells filled with water."

According to information, Anjanappa said "This year, due to Corona infection, there were no tourists in my garden. We suffered a lot due to this. A large number of mangoes were sold at low rates. But, now we have to do door-to-door delivery of mangoes."
