All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Chief Asaduddin Owaisi has made a big attack on the central government. Owaisi alleged that the Central Government is engaged in erasing Mughal history from NCERT books. whereas China is erasing the present.

Criticising the Central Government, Owaisi has also raised the issue of China naming 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh. He has said, 'On the one hand, the Modi government is erasing the Mughals from the NCERT syllabus; on the other hand, China, with which Prime Minister Modi was joining hands at the Indonesia G-20, is changing our present.'

NCERT Director Rejects Allegations: NCERT Director Dinesh Prasad Saklani rejected Owaisi's allegations. He has said about this that 'this is a lie'. The Mughals have not been removed from the syllabus. Last year, the situation was different because, due to COVID, there was pressure on students everywhere. This burden was only reduced.

Continuing his point, the NCERT chief has said that the expert committees examined books up to grades 6–12. 'They (the committee) recommended that if this chapter has been removed, it is not going to affect the knowledge of the children.' Saklani has said that a recommendation has also been made to remove it from the syllabus, terming it an unnecessary burden on behalf of the committees.

The director said that those who do not know are going to check the textbooks. He has said about this that even today, students are studying the history of the Mughals in NCERT's 7th book. Saklani has further said, 'The history of the Mughals is taught in Section 2 of the 11th class book, and there are two chapters on the history of the Mughals in the 12th class book, out of which Theme 9 was removed last year, while Theme 8 students are still being taught. No chapter has been removed from any book this year.
