If the ED does not demand his custody today, his judicial custody may increase. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) can demand the custody of Chidambaram after his judicial custody is over. But if this is not done, then Chidambaram can be sent to Tihar Jail in judicial custody. After which his bail plea will be heard on 23 September in Delhi High Court. P Chidambaram and his lawyer would like the ED to take him into custody. Because if this happens, Chidambaram will not have to stay in jail.

Earlier, Chidambaram was also requested to surrender before the ED. But the court rejected Chidambaram's surrender petition. At the same time, the ED has said many times in the court that they need to arrest Chidambaram. But this will be done at the appropriate time. Now everyone's eyes are fixed on the ED. It will be interesting to see whether the ED demands the custody of Chidambaram in court.
