New Delhi: Congress veteran and former Union Minister P. Chidambaram have warned about the anger of farmers against the Modi government at the Center regarding new agricultural laws. He said that no government can face the wrath of farmers, especially when the farmers know that they have been cheated.

Congress leader Chidambaram, referring to the statement of the famous poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar, has pointed out the peasant anger against the government. He tweeted that, 'My favourite poet Saint Thiruvalluvar wrote 2000 years ago that if farmers tie hands then no one can stand in front of them. Even for this, he has to give up his life. Chidambaram said that something similar is also being seen in the farmers' movement today. Farmers have been demonstrating for the last 40 days and more than 50 people have died. Even after this, they are firm about their demands.

Chidambaram said that in such a situation, the government should take necessary steps and accept the demand of farmers. The protest against the three new agricultural laws has been going on at the Delhi border for 40 days. Meanwhile, today (Monday) a seventh-round meeting is going on between the farmers' organizations and the government, which will discuss the issue of withdrawal of agricultural laws and legalization of minimum support price.
