New Delhi: Veteran Congress leader and former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram on Friday praised PM Narendra Modi's vision for population explosion, stopping the use of single-use plastic and honoring those who create wealth. In a tweet, Chidambaram said, "The three announcements made by the Prime Minister on Independence Day should be welcomed by all of us - it is the duty of every patriot to have a small family, respect property-created and stop using single-use plastic."
"I hope that out of these three things, the Finance Minister and his team of tax officials and investigators will have heard the Prime Minister's second address clearly." "The first and third pronouncements must be part of the people's movement. There are hundreds of dedicated volunteer organizations that are ready to lead these campaigns at the local level."
Chidambaram's remarks came a day after PM Modi's Independence Day speech from the ramparts of the Red Fort. PM Modi had said that population explosion would create many problems for our generations to come.
