Bhubaneswar: Members of Odisha's Paraja tribal community recently demanded action against the woman social activist who allegedly forced Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari to dance before she was discharged from hospital. In the video, the social activist was also seen dancing with the 70-year-old woman and the sound of a song was heard in the background. Padma Shri awardee Kamala Pujari said, "I did not want to dance but I was forced to do it. I repeatedly refused but they (social workers) did not listen to me. I had to dance. I was sick and tired.''

Harish Muduli, president of Paraja Samaj, an association of tribal communities, said in Koraput, "If the government fails to take action against social activist Mamta Behera, our members will take to the streets." Kamala Pujari was awarded the Padma Shri in 2019.
