Muzaffarnagar (Uttar Pradesh) [India], Jan. 29 (NT): Two petrol bombs were allegedly hurled at a cinema hall here on Sunday when it was screening Bollywood’s most controversial film 'Padmaavat'.

Although, the bombs, lobbed at Shyam Cinema Hall were unsuccessful to burst out.

The cinema had started screening of the film from Sunday itself, according to reports.After the incident, heavy police was deployed at the spot.

Till now, police have said no to comment on the incident.This was second such incident in as many days.

A petrol bomb was allegedly hurled at a cinema hall in Kalyan city of Thane district on Saturday.

Fortunately, it also failed to burst out.

The protests in opposition to the Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus refuse to die down.

Several states in the northern, western and central regions of the nation have been observing massive protest against the Deepika Padukone starrer film as It allegedly does molest the history of Rajput queen Padmavati.

After undergoing modifications and a legal fight, the film at last hit the Silver screen on January 25 and despite Supreme Court clearing the way for its screening, the film keeps on to face the rage of protesters, especially of Rajput Karni Sena. (NT)
