Padman movie get to hit on big screen a day before its release date.

With less than three weeks left for Padman to hit the screens, R Balki and producers have decided to prepone its release by a day. A biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, which was set to hit the screens on Republic Day, will now release on January 25. Akshay Kumar, who is playing the lead role in the film, took to Twitter to make the big announcement. Padman was earlier clashing with Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee's Aiyaary on January 26. But with this sudden shift in the release date, Padman has not only averted the clash at the box office, but has earned themselves an extra day to earn big bucks at the ticket window.

Padman is said to be a biopic on Arunachalam Muruganantham, and will chronicle his journey of finding a way to make cheap, affordable sanitary napkins for women in his village. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte. Padman stars Sonam Kapoor and Radhika Apte alongside Akshay Kumar and is produced by Twinkle Khanna.

Padman is a story of Arunachalam Muruganantham Coimbatore who's life mission was to provide low-cost sanitary pads to rural women. Apart from Padman, Akshay Kumar will also be starring in 2.0 which also features Rajinikanth and Amy Jackson. Helmed by Shankar the film is a sequel to Robot and will feature Akshay essay the role of an antagonist.
