Chandigarh: Nirmal Singh Khalsa, who was awarded the former Hazuri Ragi Padma Shri of Shri Harimandir Sahib, died on Thursday due to Corona. Prior to this, a 70-year old Pathi of Nawanshahar district died on 18 March due to Corona. On the night of 29 March, a man from village Moranwali of Hoshiarpur district, admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Medical College and Hospital in Amritsar, was killed.

Bhai Nirmal Singh, who was awarded Padam Shri, suffering from Coronavirus infection, breathed his last in the isolation ward of Guru Nanak Dev Hospital at 4.30 am on Thursday. The Panthak community is shocked at the news of Nirmal Singh Khalsa's death. He was admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Hospital three days ago on cough and cold and mild fever.

Police use slogan to alert people about Corona

Prior to this, Khalsa was a few days in the Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College, run by SGPC. The doctors there were found to have been infected with the Coronavirus during treatment.
