Pakur: In Jharkhand's Pakur district, a relative's uncle allegedly killed his 8-year-old nephew and 10-year-old niece on Thursday night. Not only that, but he also took out their eyes. The reason for this is said to be old land disputes. Superintendent of Police Hridip P Janardan said that prima facie investigation has revealed that the incident at Ambadiha Manjhi Tola under the Amrapara police station area was carried out by the children's uncle Nehru Marandi alias Turka, who has been absconding since the incident.
He said the culprit will be arrested soon. The SP said that the father of the children Prem Marandi had raised suspicion on his neighbours and relatives in the murder case of the two children. As a result, Amrapara police station in-charge Manoj Kumar arrested the accused Turka's father Pradhan Marandi, mother Puti Hansda and brother Gumasta Marandi and interrogated them strictly, the whole thing came out later.
According to the officer, the men told the police that due to a land dispute with Prem's family, Turka on Thursday evening called the two children - Marshila Marandi (10) and Baburam Marandi (8) and took them to a barn away from home and there he committed the incident. Police said the accused's uncle removed one eye of the girl and both the eyes of her eight-year-old brother after the murder. The children's father Prem Marandi said that both his children were missing since last evening and when they did not reach home till late in the evening, a lot of searches were carried out in the village but they were not found. He said the bodies of the two were found lying in a barn outside the village today. Police said that looking at the body of the girl, it seems that she was also raped before the murder.
