Lahore: The government of Punjab province in Pakistan has banned more than 100 textbooks in schools. Reasons for the ban include contentious content such as showing Ishininda (Criticism of Allah) and not showing Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) as part of the country.

Rai Manzoor Nasir, managing director of the Punjab Board of Materials and Textbooks, has stated that some books did not even include the exact date of birth of Pakistan's Qaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and national poet Allama Iqbal. Some books contained material against the two-nation theory. Nasir said that 30 committees reviewed about 10,000 books taught in government and private schools. Some of these books have been published by Oxford, Cambridge, Link International Pakistan, Paragon Books. The board has also issued an order to confiscate these books from the market. He said that other textbooks will also be inspected within the next six months.

On the other hand, Pakistan is also struggling badly with the Corona epidemic. On Friday, 1,763 new cases of infection have been reported here in 24 hours.
