Islamabad: Pakistan's Health Ministry said that 97 people died in Pakistan on Monday due to coronavirus infection. With this, the number of people who died of corona in Pakistan has increased to 2,729. The Health Ministry said that a total of 29,085 people have been corona tested in Pakistan during the last 24 hours. A total of 897,650 people have been tested for infection with the coronavirus, out of which 144,676 people have been found positive.

The province of Punjab, Pakistan, has the highest number of 54,138 reported infections with the coronavirus. 53,805 cases have been reported in Sindh, 18,013 cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 8,569 cases in Islamabad, 8,177 cases in Balochistan, 1,129 cases in Gilgit Baltistan and 647 cases in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. The ministry said that 97 more patients have died during the last 24 hours due to coronavirus infection. The number of dead in the country has increased to 2,729 and 53,721 people have been cured.

Planning Minister Asad Umar on Sunday warned that by the end of July, the number of coronavirus patients in the country could increase to around 1.2 million. According to the John Hawkins Corona Virus Resource Center, 79,00,000 people worldwide have been infected with the coronavirus and more than 4,30,000 people have died due to a Covid-19 infection. It has the highest number of deaths of 1,15,000 in the US alone.
