Shahid Afridi test positive for corona, asks fans for prayers

Islamabad: Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has been found to be COVID-19 positive. The 40-year-old cricketer shared the news on Twitter and asked fans to pray for him. He wrote on Thursday that, "I have been feeling unwell since Thursday. My body was hurting badly. My corona has been tested and unfortunately, I have been found positive. I prayed for speedy recovery needed.

Afridi is the second Pakistan cricketer to be found infected with COVID-19. Recently, former Pakistan opener Tawfiq Umar was also found to be Corona virus positive. He has recovered from the disease. It is noteworthy that since the outbreak of coronovirus started, Afridi has been doing a lot of charity work through his foundation Hope Not Out. The former Pakistan captain has helped thousands of poor with ration and other essentials in the last few months. Their work was also supported by Indian cricketers Yuvraj Singh and Harbhajan Singh, though their relationship later turned sour.

Shahid Afridi had recently praised the Pakistan Cricket Board's move to appoint Younis Khan as the team's batting coach for the tour of England.
