Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has recently fixed the price of ancestral homes of Bollywood actors Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor. This price has been fixed at Rs 80,56,000 and Rs 1,50,00,000 respectively. In the month of September, the provincial government had decided to buy ancestral houses for the preservation of these historic buildings in a dilapidated state. After that, these two buildings located in the main areas of this city of North Pakistan were declared as National Heritage.
Recently, the Deputy Commissioner of Peshawar Muhammad Ali Asgar has fixed the price of Rs 80.56 lakh for Dilip Kumar's house in Char Marla after a report by the Department of Communication and Works. The price of Raj Kapoor's six-storey house has been fixed at Rs 1.5 crore. Marla is the traditional standard used in Pakistan, India and Bangladesh for measurement of area. A storey here is considered to be equal to 272.25 sq ft or 25 .2929 sqm.
The archaeology department here requested the provincial government to release two crore rupees to buy these two historic buildings. These are the buildings where Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor were born and both had their initial upbringing before partition.
