Islamabad: Atrocities on minorities are continuing in Pakistan. In the latest case, radical Muslims have locked Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Bhai Taru Singh, calling it a mosque. Pakistan's Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB) has closed this Gurudwara in Lahore for the Sikh community in collaboration with fundamentalists. Along with this, the entry of Sikh devotees has also been banned. After this incident, resentment is seen among the local Sikhs. This is not the first case of calling a Gurudwara a mosque. Even 2 years ago, this historical Gurudwara was declared a mosque. Then a strong objection was raised by India to Pakistan. 

Fanatics say that Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Bhai Taru Singh was once the famous palace of Aurangzeb's brother Dara Shikoh. Dara Shikoh used to stay here before his assassination. Darashikoh was murdered by his younger brother Aurangzeb. At the same time, Sikhs believe that thousands of innocent Sikh men, women, and children were slaughtered here on the orders of Mir Mannu, the governor of Lahore and the representative of the Mughal Empire. Islamic fundamentalists tortured to death those who did not kneel before them.

Among such brave warriors, one brother Taru Singh was also there. Gurudwara Shaheed Ganj Bhai Taru Singh was built in his name in Lahore, Pakistan, which is the place of his martyrdom. As per reports, Sikhs claim that Mir Mannu had given permission to set up a Gurudwara here at the behest of Dewan Kaura Mal. At the same time, the fundamentalists say that the Sikhs have forcibly occupied this mosque.

According to the 'Sikh Encyclopedia' of Punjab University, Patiala, Bhai Taru Singh was born in a Sandhu Jat family in Phula village of Amritsar. At that time the Sikhs were fighting a war against the Mughals. Bhai Taru Singh was martyred on July 1, 1745, at the age of 25. Bhai Taru Singh was beheaded by fanatics for not accepting Islam. That's why Sikh society remembers him as a sacrifice.
