Pakistan PM Imran Khan On Thursday is going on a day-long visit to Qatar. During this time, Imran will not be there at the time of signing the peace agreement between the US and Taliban in Doha on 29 February. The Express Tribune quoted the Foreign Office as saying, 'Prime Minister Imran Khan will visit Qatar on 27 February 2020 as part of regular exchange of high-level visits. During this, Joe will meet Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani of Qatar state.

According to media reports, this will be Imran Khan's second visit to Qatar after taking charge in 2018. However, he will not attend the signing ceremony between the US and the Taliban on Saturday. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will represent Pakistan in this ceremony. Representatives of more than two dozen countries are participating in the signing ceremony.

There has been a long dialogue between the US and the Taliban for 18 months. It is expected that the peace deal has reached its final stage. Under the agreement, foreign troops will be removed from the war-torn country. In return, the Taliban has agreed not to allow Afghans to be used against any other country. Earlier, before the peace agreement between the US and the Taliban, there have been compromises on the partial ceasefire.
