Lahore: The Sri Lankan cricket team is going to tour Pakistan this year. But before this tour started, a lot of obstacles started. The PCB believes that if the series is played at a neutral venue, their plans to resume international cricket in Pakistan will be jeopardized. The board also believes that doing so will make it difficult for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) to invite foreign players to Pakistan.

Sri Lanka has to play a series of three ODIs and T20 matches between September 27 and October 9 in Pakistan. Earlier, 10 Sri Lankan players refused to visit Pakistan. Lasith Malinga, Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Suranga Lakmal, Dimuth Karunaratne, Tisara Perera, Akila Dhananjay, Dhananjay DeSilva, Kushal Perera and Niroshan Dickwella have separated themselves from the tour. Lahiru Thirimane will lead the ODI while Dasun Shanaka will captain Sri Lanka in the T20. If the tour did not happen for any reason, it would be a big shock to his efforts to get an international cricket match in Pakistan.
